CONFIRMATION PRAYER

Spirit of God, grant me the gift of wisdom to see the world through your eyes.

The gift of counsel to make difficult decisions.

The gifts of knowledge and understanding to use my mind to know you and to love you.

The gift of fortitude to have the courage to live in the faith despite the difficulties and disappointments.

The gift of piety to be able to express my special love and commitment to you.

And, the right kind of awesome fear that makes me pause to wonder and revere God’s Love.

 Amen.

LENTEN PRAYER

God all people, We offer you our Lenten journey. May we learn to walk as one human family, remembering in a special way those who are poorest and most in need. Bless our prayers, our fasting, and our Lenten gifts. Through these actions, we show our love for your Son, Jesus, and answer your call to love one another.

Amen.

A CHRISTMAS BLESSING
FOR THE HOME

Loving God, as we gather at
Christmas around the manger,
which reminds us of the
birth of your Son,
we ask you to dwell in our hearts and our home.
Bless every member of our family,
and strengthen the bond of love among us.
May we joyfully praise you like the angel choir
that announced the birth of your Son
to the shepherds watching over their flocks.
May we show your love to others
with the same brightness of the star that guided
the Wise Men to offer gifts to the newborn King.
Make our family holy,
just like Jesus, Mary, and Joseph,
so that we may always live in peace and love.
Amen.

A Prayer for Grandparents

Dear St. Ann, you were truly twice
blessed to have our blessed Mother as your
daughter and Jesus our Savior as your grandson. I know
that every period of our lives has its responsibilities as well as
its joys.
Today, it seems that grandparents have either too
little use or too much; either we are shunted aside to do
nothing, or we are called upon to do everything. Help me to
know just where my duties lie in my particular situation and
to carry them out as best I can.
Take care of my family, my children, and their
children. Inspire them all to follow your grandson and lead
truly Christian lives. Keep all of us in your loving care.
(ever let us turn away from Jesus and help us in the end to
receive the joy of entering into your grandson’s glorious

PRAYER FOR EASTER
Almighty and Eternal God, through the
power of your goodness we have been saved
from death and given new life. Look with
mercy and favor on your entire Church and bring lasting
salvation to all humankind. Let the world see that,
in You, the broken are made whole and the fallen are
lifted up. May our celebration of Christ’s victory over
sin and death show its effects in the way we live our
lives. We ask these things in the name of our Redeemer
and Lord, Jesus Christ. Amen

The Magnificat

My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord,
my spirit rejoices in God my Savior
for He has looked with favor on His lowly servant.

From this day all generations will call me blessed:
The Almighty has done great things for me,
and holy is His Name.

He has mercy on those who fear Him
in every generation.

He has shown the strength of his arm,
He has scattered the proud in their conceit.

He has cast down the might from their thrones,
and has lifted up the lowly.

He has filled the hungry with good things,
And the rich He has sent away empty.

He has come to the help of His servant Israel
for He has remembered His promise of mercy.
The promise He made to our fathers,
To Abraham and his children forever.

Blessing for a Gathering:

God of love and kindness
as we gather together this day
we recognize the bonds of unity and purpose
that unite us as one.
You created the world and all that is in it,
and brought forth man and woman
in your own image and likeness,
initiating the human family.
Send your blessing upon our gathering this day.
May all we do reflect your goodness.
Bring us together as one
so that we may accomplish your will in our lives.
Amen.

911 Remembrance:

God, no one understands why so many
died on 9/11. Though they are gone,
let their memory live on every time an
American flag flies, every time someone pauses at the
9/11 site, every time others gather together in prayer or
silence.
You know, O God, that wounds take time to heal. Calm
the stinging rage, the emptiness, and the tears of those
missing loved ones this day. Comfort all the broken
hearted, and bind up their wounds. Walk with them and
remind them they are never alone and their loved ones
never forgotten.
Bless all who mourn and hold them close in Your loving arms, now and always. Amen.

A Lenten Prayer

Lord Jesus Christ, by your death and resurrection you have
set us free from sin and death. May your grace renew our
hearts this Lent and help us turn from sin in our own lives.
May we learn to appreciate more deeply the sacrifice you
made for us. Accept our prayer, fasting and acts of charity
as we seek to draw closer to you during this holy season.
Strengthen the faith of your people so that we may be a
sign of your love to all the world.

Amen.
